Atomic Heart is a new shooter from the Russian studio Mundfish, which is officially registered in Cyprus, but its main offices are located in the Russian Federation. The game was released on February 21 and is distributed freely in Ukraine, despite the blatant propaganda of the USSR. The Ministry of Statistics wants to correct this oversight.
As Deputy Minister of Digital Transformation Oleksandr Bornyakov said in a comment to dev.ua, the department will send requests to Valve, Sony and Microsoft. In them, officials will ask the company to remove Atomic Heart from sale in Steam, PS Store and MS Store in Ukraine.
“We also call for limiting the distribution of this game in other countries due to its toxicity, the potential collection of user data information and the possibility of their transfer to third parties in Russia, as well as the potential use of money raised from game purchases to wage war against Ukraine,” continued Bornyakov .
The deputy minister also appealed to users worldwide and urged them to ignore Atomic Heart. He recalled that Mundfish never took a concrete position on condemning the bloody war and Russia as an aggressor.
Mundfish’s position on war
- The studio is officially registered in Cyprus, which is characteristic of Russian game teams. However, its main offices are located in the Russian Federation.
- Since the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, Mundfish has remained silent. And only recently, she came out with a position “for peace and against violence” – on the eve of the release of Atomic Heart, which will be sold in global markets thanks to cooperation with Focus Entertainment. This is one of the few publishers that continue to do business in the Russian Federation.
- Among the investors of Mundfish is the Russian corporation “Gazprom”, which directly finances armed aggression in our country.
- Ukrainians called to boycott Atomic Heart by all means. They also asked Valve and Epic Games not to distribute the game on Steam and the Epic Games Store.
