According to the headmaster, the child asked for a personal conversation.
The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny recalled a touching conversation with a 4-year-old boy from Mariupol during one of the children’s events.
The head shared this memory in the author’s documentary project “The Year” by Dmytro Komarov. According to him, the boy asked for a personal conversation with him.
“A boy was standing right next to this table. I think his name is Ilya. He is probably four years old there. He took me by the hand and said: “I have to talk to you separately.” He is about 4-5 years old. He says: ” Bend over, I’ll tell you something in your ear. We’ll definitely return to Mariupol?” I say to him: “Yes!”. He says: “And when?”. I say: “This year.” The children ask for this. It’s inspiring,” – said with a nod and a smile.
Mariupol: how the Russian Federation destroyed the city of steel
Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Russian troops have begun the targeted destruction of Mariupol. Photo and video evidence of Russian tanks actually shooting up high-rise buildings, regardless of civilian casualties, has been repeatedly published on the Internet.
In March, Russia hit a drama theater with heavy bombs, where mostly women and children were hiding from the shells. The Russian Federation cynically fired at even the rescuers who were trying to dismantle the rubble.
After the evacuation of Mariupol defenders from Azovstal in May 2022, the city came under Russian occupation. The entire infrastructure of Mariupol has been destroyed, there is no gas, water, or electricity.
The real figures of the dead among the civilian population and military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are still unknown. The enemy sweeps away all traces of his crimes by burning corpses, and new high-rise buildings are built on the site of the burned houses of Ukrainians.
