In Latvia, 385,000 euros were collected at the “Dedication to Ukraine” charity concert, which took place on the anniversary of the Russian invasion on February 24. The money will be handed over to the Ukrainian army.
As reported by the Delfi publication with reference to the organizer of the concert, Signe Nigale, 170 musicians, including Ukrainian artists, performed at the event. The main purpose of the concert was to collect donations to help Ukraine in the war against Russia.
It is noted that both the musicians and the creative group of organizers took part in the concert for free, and all donations will be given to the Ukrainian army.
“We will not have a second chance to stop the war in Ukraine, we will not have a second life, we will not have a second chance to write this page of history. Thank you to everyone who provided support and continues to provide. Let’s continue to raise funds!” – said Christoph Blaus, one of the founders of the Foundation “Entrepreneurs for Peace”.
War in Ukraine: help from Latvia
In January 2023, Ukraine received another batch of military aid from Latvia. The new pack includes Stinger anti-aircraft missile systems, helicopters, machine guns with ammunition and drones.
In addition, the Minister of Finance of Latvia offered to hand over cars confiscated from drunk drivers to Ukraine free of charge. However, for this it is necessary to amend the laws.
