On the morning of February 6, a powerful earthquake occurred in southeastern Turkey and neighboring areas of Syria. According to the latest data, the total number of dead in both countries is approaching 50,000 people, of which about 45,000 are in Turkey.
After that, for several weeks, the region shuddered from so-called “aftershocks” – repeated aftershocks, some of which were quite powerful.
