The Apple Store at the Alderwood Mall in Washington was robbed last weekend. Two robbers entered the premises through the cafe. First, they got to Seattle Coffee Gear, entered the restroom, and punched a hole in the wall that led to the store’s back room. Thus, robbers bypassed the security system of the Apple Store and stole 436 iPhones worth about $500,000.
According to the manager of Seattle Coffee Gear, Eric Marks, he had no idea that the cafe would be closely adjacent to the Apple Store, knowing the location of the store. “I would have never thought we were next to an Apple Store, I mean the way it’s located. Someone really should have thought this through and accessed the layout of the mall.”
Good morning Twitter fans! Yesterday was a weird day…
1. Two guys to one of our commercial locations. Why? In order to cut a handle in our store wall to access the Apple Store next door and steal $500k worth of Iphones?
2. Later that night on the way to the grocery store my wife… pic.twitter.com/DcUld6ULEd

Police were able to obtain video of the theft, but as part of an active investigation, it has not yet been released. Nothing was stolen from the cafe itself, but replacing the locks and repairing the wall in the bathroom will cost $1,500.
When the theft happened, there were no employees at the Apple Store – the shopping center was closed for the night. A representative of Alderwood Mall said that they are working with the police to solve the incident, Apple has not yet commented.
