A fresh leak reveals the appearance of the front of the Apple iPhone 15 Pro. The main feature is extremely thin frames on all sides, their width is reduced by 28.6%. The photo of the protective glass was posted by @IceUniverse, who usually provides reliable information.
The iPhone differs from products of other companies with a completely flat screen and the same size frames, without thickening at the top or bottom. The current design was developed for the iPhone 14 line and has been improved in the new generation. This is how the thickness of the frames changed:
- iPhone 13 Pro – 2.42 mm
- iPhone 14 Pro – 2.17 mm (reduced by 10%)
- iPhone 15 Pro – 1.55 mm (reduced by 28.6%)
In addition to the published photos of the glasses, the changes are confirmed by CAD files leaked to the network. In general, the information appears to be as reliable as it can possibly be for a leak.
The slimmer frame may be exclusive to the Pro series: the regular iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus models will still have thicker frames. Only the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Ultra will receive design improvements. In addition to the screen, the iPhone 15 Pro will receive many other changes:
- USB-C connector instead of proprietary Lightning
- Tactile power and volume buttons instead of physical ones
- Apple’s new A17 Bionic processor
- 8 GB of RAM (instead of 6 GB)
- Titanium frame and less weight
A new camera is also expected in the larger iPhone 15 Ultra model (probably also called iPhone 15 Pro Max). The top iPhone will receive a completely new lens with a periscope and a long zoom. Rumor has it that it could be x6x optical zoom (vs. x3 now).
It is previously known that the new iPhones will receive new camera software functions and new digital processing algorithms and a 48 MP camera. The regular iPhone 15, iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus models will get the A16 Bionic chip, which is currently used in the iPhone 14 Pro family.
