Wild Hunt in the first trailer for the third season of “The Witcher” – the last with Henry Cavill. The first part of the sequel will be released on June 29

As expected, the day after the poster, Netflix released the first teaser trailer for the much-anticipated third season of The Witcher and immediately announced its release date – it was actually divided into two parts: the first (5 episodes) will be released on Netflix on June 29, and the second ( 3 episodes) almost a month later – July 27.

Perhaps the most impressive and intriguing scene in the trailer is the scene with the Wild Hunt, ghostly horsemen of the Apocalypse with appropriate equipment.

The continuation of the TV adaptation of Andrzej Sapkowski’s novels will be released a year and a half after the second season aired – Henry Cavill, Freya Allan, Anya Chalotra and Joy Bety (Geralt, Ciri, Yennefer and Dandelion) will return in their roles, and its plot is based on the fourth book of the “Time” series , which is quite natural. As a reminder, the first season is mostly a free interpretation of some stories of the first two books of the Witcher saga – “The Last Wish” and “The Sword of Destiny” (in total, the cycle includes eight books), and the plot of the second season is based on the third book “Blood of Elves”, as well as partly on stories from the previous collections mentioned above.

As you know, the third season of “The Witcher” will be the last with Henry Cavill – from the fourth season, he will be replaced by Liam Hemsworth (the youngest of the three Hemsworth brothers, known for his roles in the films “The Incredibles 2” and “The Hunger Games”).

Previously, the animated film “The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf” / “The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf” was released on Netflix, which received favorable reviews, as well as the prequel “Bloodline”, which was marked by an anti-record as the lowest-rated Netflix series of all time. Netflix also plans at least two more projects from the Witcher universe — an animated film and an animated series for children.

  • The second season of “The Witcher” was released on Netflix on December 17, 2021 (two years after the first) and is among the top 10 most popular English-language series in the history of Netflix. As a reminder, the show is based on the books of the famous Polish writer Andrzej Sapkowski and is in no way related to the CD Projekt RED games.
