The cyber police reported on the exposure of a 36-year-old resident of Netishyn, who sold personal data of citizens of Ukraine and the European Union through controlled groups and channels in Telegram.

It is noted that the attacker had personal data of more than 300 million people. They contained information about passport data, tax payer numbers, birth certificates, driver’s licenses, bank account data. Depending on the amount of data, the seller asked from $500 to $2000. Payment was received through currencies prohibited on the territory of Ukraine. Among the buyers were citizens of the aggressor country.
The law enforcement officers have started the investigation of criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Art. 361-1 (creation for the purpose of illegal use, distribution or sale of malicious software or technical means, as well as their distribution or sale), Art. 362 (unauthorized actions with information processed in computers, automated systems, computer networks or stored on carriers of such information, committed by a person who has the right to access it) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
In the house of the intruder, law enforcement officers conducted a warrant search and seized mobile phones, three dozen hard drives, SIM cards, computer equipment and server equipment, on which cyber police officers found databases with limited access. The origin of these bases is currently being established.
During the search, the suspect obstructed the actions of the law enforcement officers and injured a cyber police officer. The perpetrator was detained and placed in a temporary detention facility. On the fact of the attack on the cyber police officer, the investigators started a pre-trial investigation under Part 2 of Art. 345 (threat or violence against a law enforcement officer) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
