Bagels with margarine and sour cream


  • Flour – 2.5 cups
  • Sour cream – 200 g
  • Margarine – 200 g
  • Soda – 0.5 tsp
  • Jam – 200-250 g
  • Powdered sugar – 3-4 tsp

IMPORTANT: The margarine must first be removed from the refrigerator and left on the table for 15-20 minutes.

Pour sour cream into a large container, add softened margarine and stir. Add soda and flour, mix again. Quickly knead the dough, wrap it in cling film and put it in the refrigerator for 30-60 minutes. Divide the dough into 4 parts, each of which roll out thinly. The maximum diameter is 25 cm, the thickness of the dough layer is a maximum of 0.5 cm. Cut each rolled out circle into segments, like pizza.

Grease with jam and roll each piece, starting from the wide end to the middle. Roll the bagels like a horseshoe and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Place in an oven preheated to 200 degrees and bake for 30 minutes. Sprinkle the finished margarine shortbread bagels with powdered sugar.

Bagels with sour cream without margarine


  • Butter (fat content 82%) – 180-200 g
  • Sour cream (fat content 20-25%) – 200 g
  • Flour – 350-380 g
  • Salt – 1 pinch
  • Vanillin – on the tip of a knife
  • Jam – 250 g
  • Walnuts – 100 g
  • Sugar – 100 g
  • Powdered sugar

Pour sifted flour, salt and vanillin into a deep container, add chilled butter, cut into cubes. Quickly rub the flour and butter with your hands (or chop with a knife) until crumbs form. Add sour cream to this mixture, mix with a spoon, and gather the dough into a ball.

Divide the dough in half, and then each half into 4 more parts. Form balls, place them on a large plate, cover with film and put in the refrigerator for 30-60 minutes. All this must be done very quickly so that the butter does not have time to melt.

Grind the nuts and mix with sugar. Take the balls out of the dough, roll them into round layers, cut into segments. Grease each segment with jam, sprinkle nuts and sugar on top. As an alternative, you can make a treat with two types of filling – separately with nuts, separately with jam. Roll the bagels, starting from the wide end to the middle, and roll them into a horseshoe shape.

Place the bagels on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and place in an oven preheated to 180 degrees. Bake for 20-25 minutes at the same temperature. When serving, you can sprinkle the baked goods with powdered sugar.

Kefir bagels with cinnamon and cocoa


  • Kefir – 130 g
  • Egg – 1 pc.
  • Sugar – 130 g
  • Vegetable oil – 80 g (+ for greasing bagels)
  • Flour – 300 g
  • Baking powder – 1 tsp
  • Salt – 1 pinch
  • Cocoa – 10 g
  • Ground cinnamon – 5 g

In a bowl, mix egg and sugar, vegetable oil, kefir and salt. Beat with a whisk, then add the sifted flour and baking powder in parts, stirring constantly. Knead the dough and immediately roll it into a large circle.

In a separate container, combine 30 grams of sugar, cinnamon and cocoa, mix thoroughly. Grease the dough with vegetable oil and then with the filling, trying to distribute it evenly. Divide the dough with a knife into 16 segments, like pizza, roll each part into bagels. Place the sweets on a parchment-lined baking sheet and place in the preheated oven. Bake for 20-25 minutes at 180 degrees. While they are still hot, grease the finished hot bagels with vegetable oil, sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve.
