The Ministry of Internal Affairs considers it unlikely that the self-proclaimed President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko can order his troops to launch a ground operation on the territory of Ukraine.
At the same time, today the forces of the Belarusian army are conducting military exercises.
This was stated by the adviser to the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Vadym Denisenko on the air of the joint information marathon UAraz on Ukrainian TV channels.
“To say that Lukashenka will in the near future instruct his army to start a ground operation on the territory of Ukraine … is still unlikely ,” the adviser to the minister said.
He also stated that on May 10 there were many different stuffing and information that Belarusian “Smerchs” and other artillery installations were going to the border with Ukraine.
“In principle, I would like to say that in Belarus there is a single training ground where such shooting and exercises can be carried out, and it is located relatively close to the Ukrainian border. And, unfortunately, therefore, Ukraine must concentrate and leave rather large forces on the border with Belarus,” Denisenko said.
Recall, on May 10, the General Staff of Belarus stated that the creation of a 20,000-strong group of Ukrainian troops requires a reaction, so Minsk is deploying special operations forces units in the south as part of the check.
