Decisions on another 19 samples are planned to be made by the end of the year.
The Ukrainian army has already received seven samples of Ukrainian-made UAVs. About 20 applications from manufacturers are being considered.
“Previously, the army accepted 1-2 samples of UAVs per year for operation. For comparison: in the last 30 days, 7 samples of Ukrainian-made UAVs were admitted to operation in the Armed Forces,” – said the Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Oleksiy Reznikov.
According to Rezinkov, this became possible thanks to the change in the rules for the use of innovations for defense needs and the simplification of the procedure for the admission of weapons and military equipment for use in the Armed Forces.
The minister noted that now a developer who has a ready-made product can submit an application to the Ministry of Defense for admission to the operation of his product. After receiving official permission for operation, the Ministry of Defense can purchase these products, and the Armed Forces can take them to the state.
“Earlier, this procedure took 1.5-2 years. Today, it is very fast. The main thing is that the product has the tactical and technical characteristics needed for the military,” said the head of the MOU.
According to Reznikov, 19 more applications are currently being considered for admission to operation of Ukrainian-made UAVs.
“We plan to make a decision on them by the end of the year,” he emphasized.
UAVs for the Armed Forces – the latest news
In August, Ukroboronprom and the General Staff of the Armed Forces developed a program for the development of unmanned systems for the Security and Defense Forces. It involves partnering with private UAV developers for fast and safe production of drones at their facilities.
In addition, “Ukroboronprom” is completing tests of a Ukrainian strike drone with a range of 1,000 km and a warhead weight of 75 kg.
The day before, 3 airfields were hit in the Russian Federation, including in the Saratov region – at a distance of at least 600 km from Ukraine. It is assumed that they were hit by Ukrainian UAVs.
