Apple released iOS 16.2 update: end-to-end encryption in iCloud, Apple Music Sing karaoke mode and restrictions in AirDrop

Apple has started rolling out the iOS 16.2 update to its mobile operating system, which includes a number of new and improved features.

The iOS 16.2 update (as well as iPadOS 16.2 and macOS 13.1) brings a new Freeform app. It is a digital whiteboard on which you can place objects, lines, media files, attach documents or notes, and make notes. Collaboration is also available, but requires everyone to use Apple devices.

Also, temporary restrictions on AirDrop, which Apple previously implemented amid protests in China, now apply to everyone.

Finally, iOS 16.2 and iPadOS 16.2 include an updated HomeKit architecture with improved performance. Initially, Apple planned to introduce it in iOS 16.
