Konstantin Krivolap noted that the liquidation of one military bigwig will not have a powerful impact.
In the Russian Federation there are no problems with the officer corps. They have always had many generals, so the elimination of one of them has an impact only until he is replaced.
“The war has been going on for 10 years, and how many of these generals have already been eliminated, and we are still rejoicing that some bigwig was eliminated. And a purely logical question arises: if some top general was eliminated in 2014, over these 10 years, could they train new top generals who will already be expensive specialists and will fly the same A-50 aircraft? The Russians have never had problems with the number of generals. In terms of the number of generals, they are definitely the first – not even second, but the first army in the world. The fact that the generals there can do something and even move their legs there is very good, but there are a lot of them there. They respect the generals there, this is a serious national pastime for them,” said an aviation expert, former testing engineer at the Antonov design bureau Konstantin Krivolap in an interview with Channel 24.
At the same time, he noted that the quality of specialists is different – some generals know how to attack very well, while others know how to defend very well, because it is not always the general who knows how to attack who also knows how to defend. He recalled that changing teams and commanders is a normal process.
The expert also indicated that more than 10 pilots could have died after the A-50 radar aircraft was shot down.
“The Russians write that now either the commander or the deputy commander – some high-ranking rank of some of their forces – has died at this command post. What does this affect? This affects the time until he is replaced, until a new one is introduced into the structure “. Don’t they have some kind of reserve? They carry out operations in a combat zone and must be prepared that this or that person may be eliminated. Understanding how this is organized in the Russian army, where officer honor is just words, this not actions, I don’t know if it can be replaced,” Krivolap concluded.
