Another update of the tariff, this time the main news is the ability to exchange unused gigabytes of traffic for cashback. We also added 200 minutes and SMS to the tariff packages, and as a “compensation” the “Unlimited Internet” option was made paid in most regions.

“Tarifisch” is two years old, by now it is, consider, a veteran tariff. It is not surprising that this is not the first time it has been “modernized”. In the current environment, mobile operators have several ways to increase the profitability of their subscribers, and they use all the ways, combining them in different proportions. Tariff refinement is an effective tool, as a result, the subscriber often starts paying for what he previously received for free. In this sense, “Tariffische” is a kind of tariff plan, which is strongly recommended to be studied before switching to it or connecting to it. To avoid any unpleasant surprises.

What changed

The news can be read here, quote:

“When you connect and switch to the updated tariff, you will receive unlimited Internet traffic on social networks, 30 GB of Internet for other resources and a set of packages of 700 minutes and 700 SMS per month for all networks in Russia for 650 rubles per month.”

We added minutes and SMS for the same money, and most importantly, it became possible to exchange unused gigabytes of traffic for cashback. A very valuable option for those who do not regularly consume the entire Internet package. I like it more than carrying over the rest of the traffic to the next month. After all, many connect to Tarifish for the sake of minutes, not traffic, it is pleasant to receive visible compensation for the unspent. The main thing is not to miss the “doomsday” on which this operation is possible. But more about the exchange of gigabytes for cashback below. The operator has added 200 minutes and SMS to each version of Tariffische, now the minutes / SMS / money are laid out as follows:

• 700 minutes and 700 SMS for 650 rubles;
• 950 minutes and 950 SMS for 800 rubles;
• 1 minutes and 200 SMS for 1 rubles;
• 1 minutes and 700 SMS for 1 rubles.

The cost of calls to all numbers in Russia has not changed since the last tariff upgrade, but since we are talking about the contents of the packages, the cost of minutes in excess of the package:

• When choosing a package of 700 minutes 1.75 rubles.
• When choosing a package of 950 minutes 1.50 rubles.
• When choosing a package 1 200 minutes 1.25 rubles.
• When choosing a package 1 700 minutes 1.00 rubles.

The scheme itself is interesting and unusual, also a kind of know-how: the price of a minute over the package depends on the size of the subscription fee. The “fatter” the purchased package, the cheaper the minute consumed in excess of the package. I would say that they did it fairly, and the price of minutes is not brutal, although higher than the one that was when the tariff was launched two years ago. It makes me angry when I see a completely acceptable and competitive subscriber, but inside there are such prices for minutes in excess of the package that at least run to look for a booth with a payphone. If there are any, of course.

Now about the exchange of traffic for cashback. Let me remind you that cashback is not money in the usual sense, it is a kind of equivalent of rubles that can be spent on paying for MTS communication services or on a discount on goods in the MTS showroom. However, in our case it is not fundamental, since cashback is successfully spent on a subscription fee for Tariff. It’s just that if there is a cashback, the subscriber spends less “real” rubles.

To exchange unused gigabytes for cashback, you need to go to the My MTS application or to the MTS Personal Account in the “Internet” section during the last XNUMX hours before updating the Internet package and click “Exchange gigabytes”. If at the time of pressing the button “Exchange gigabytes” all the conditions of the promotion are met, after pressing the button, gigabytes will be exchanged for cashback. The subscriber should not have the “Unlimited Internet” service connected, which seems logical: what gigabytes with unlimited Internet? It is logical, but not entirely, unlimited on “Tariff” is valid only in the home region, and it would be fair to receive cashback compensation for unused gigabytes on trips around the country.

The exchange takes place according to the formula 325 x (the rest of the Internet traffic in gigabytes minus 1 GB): 29. The multiplier is 325 for Moscow, in other regions this figure may differ.

The Technologicus website gives an example of converting traffic to cashback:

“For example, a subscriber has 26 GB left. Minus non-combustible balance, total – 25 GB for exchange for cashback. 325 * 25/29 = 280,17. Cashback is rounded to the nearest ruble in favor of the subscriber, for a total of 281 rubles of cashback. In different regions, the formulas are different, for example, in Tula, the first multiplier is 225: 225 * 25/29 = 193,96 (194 rubles of cashback). “

Features of the “Tariff”

Here we have a lot to talk about, the tariff has plenty of features, including unusual ones. Below I will in places cite my own review on February 17, 2020. The terms of the tariff can be viewed on the MTS website here.

No voice unlim. Even when the tariff was released, I was unpleasantly surprised by the lack of voice anlim within the network. We are already accustomed to arguing about whether it is fair to turn on unlim only after the package of minutes has been exhausted, or an honest approach – to remove the unlimited voice intranet from the package altogether, giving the minutes from the package only for calls to the networks of other operators. It turns out that MTS came up with an ingenious solution: not to do intranet anlim on package tariffs at all!

No unlim – no problems and disputes, everyone pays for everything above the package, and everyone is happy with complete social justice. It’s unpleasant that we have all got used to the presence of voice unlim within the network, this is taken for granted as an attribute of the package tariff. Anlim is turned on immediately, or at first the intranet consumes a package – another question, but there is anlim. In “Tarifishche” they refused from unlim, which comes as a complete surprise to many.

Unlimited internet only in the home region. And now for 200 rubles / month. Found a news release on February 13, 2020, quote:

“Do you need unlimited internet? Connect the free option “Unlimited Internet” and use the Internet in your region without restrictions on the amount of used traffic ”.

Unlimited Internet operated only within its region back in February 2020, but then the option was, as you can see, free, and now for 200 rubles. per month. They write that after the “cancellation” of intranet roaming, the Internet should act the same throughout Russia, but this is not entirely true. Yes, if the tariff includes Internet unlimited, then it will be valid throughout the country with a few exceptions. But if this is a separately connected option, then here the operator’s hands are untied: if he wants, he will do it in Russia, he wants to – only at home. By default, the “Unlimited Internet” option is disabled (connected by the command * 111 * 844 #), and this is correct, since the option is for separate money.

Be sure to check the cost of unlimited Internet on the website of your region, prices “walk” within wide limits. For example, if in Moscow it is 200 rubles, then in St. Petersburg it is a symbolic 25 rubles / month, and in Yaroslavl it is completely free.

Free on the net. A good option, included in the “Tariff” free of charge. The description can be found here, the option gives unlimited access to the resources of WhatsApp, Instagram, VKontakte, Odnoklassniki, OK Live, Facebook, Skype, Viber, Twitter, Snapchat, Twitch, MTS Connect. At most other tariffs, they ask for 128 rubles for the option. per month (4.2 rubles / day). Since the option on “Tariff” is free, its automatic connection is made, nice. True, I still do not understand why the description of the Tariff says “Connect * 345 #” (see the screenshot above). For a masochist who for some reason disabled this option and then changed his mind?

Internet distribution and torrents for money. With the distribution of the Internet, it was still all right, although in excess of the volume of 10 GB per month they begin to withdraw 80 rubles per distribution. per day. Carried away, you can get money. Interestingly, the same scheme worked in the first version of Tariffish, only the payment for the distribution started after 3 GB per month. In the penultimate version, distribution over 10 GB was blocked, now they have returned to the distribution option for a fee. It’s more fun with torrents, when you try to connect, they immediately remove 75 rubles. and allocate 5 GB of traffic available per day. In February, I already commented on this feature: “Not a cheap pleasure, but I like this approach more than completely blocking torrents. To whom it is impatient, that and 75 rubles. will pay. On the other hand, will there not be erroneous write-offs? How do you prove that you haven’t sent / received a dozen bytes in a sneaky way in P2P mode? And, how to drink, there are many who want to check whether access to torrents is blocked. Well, they will check for 75 rubles, they will be delighted. First, they will be delighted. “

Daily payment. You can pay by the day, but it turns out to be much more expensive. It was calculated that when switching to daily write-off, the monthly fee increases by an average of 31%. So it is better not to bring it up to this and to top up the balance in a timely manner in an amount sufficient to write off the monthly fee for the next month. Otherwise, your “budget” tariff for 650 rubles. (yes, for MTS this is a budget tariff, if you didn’t know) will suddenly turn into not the cheapest one for 850 rubles / month. And it will turn completely without your participation.

How the minute / SMS engine works. With an increase in tariff packages, everything reacts immediately: the packages increase and the difference between the old and new subscription fees is deducted from the balance. But with a decrease in tariff packages, the changes take effect from the next billing period.

Summary

It seems that this is all and I have not forgotten anything important. If you missed something, then I’m sorry, the tariff, as you can see for yourself, is complex and confusing. If you are thinking about connecting / switching, then be sure to try on “Tariff” for your profile first. At least approximately. Here you already need to look not only at the contents of the packages and the price of the tariff on the window, but also to assess what, in addition to the basic package, you will need and how much additional money you will have to pay for it. But for a neat and disciplined person, “Tarifische” may turn out to be quite good.

As a PS photo of a sim card, such a “Tarifische” from some collective farm was shoved to me in the subway passage about a year ago, I remembered and rummaged in the nightstand. There really is a discount, if you subtract from 650 rubles. 10%, you get just 585 rubles. Simcard, of course, will be issued to someone else’s uncle. Just a few days ago, I read about a “donated” sim card with a similar “Tariff”, but 30 GB instead of Internet anlim. In general, the irreconcilable struggle with anonymous SIM-cards continues successfully, and the distribution of such SIM-cards continues to be no less successful. So to speak, two parallel universes that do not intersect.
