Uber sets up a new company to manufacture courier robots

The name of the newly formed company will be Serve Robotics, TechCrunch reports. It is already known that the startup is right now busy raising funds in the first round of investments. At the same time, representatives of the company refused to give any detailed information.

Serve Robotics is reported to have 60 employees. The startup is headquartered in San Francisco, but also has offices in Los Angeles and Vancouver. It is expected that eventually the fleet of robots will be increased from several tens to tens of thousands.

Note that the COVID-19 pandemic forced Uber to reduce focus on some of its projects. For example, the company has already abandoned the creation of unmanned vehicles and air taxis.
