This was discussed during a telephone conversation between First Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Sviridenko and Canadian Minister of International Trade Mary Angie .
“Minister Angie strongly condemned the unprovoked and unjustified invasion of Ukraine and Russian attacks on innocent civilians. She reaffirmed Canada’s commitment to strengthening Ukraine’s defense capabilities and economy, as well as solidarity with the people through continued humanitarian and financial assistance.

“Minister Angie outlined how Canada continues to work with the international community to implement a range of economic measures aimed at holding Putin and his apostates accountable and isolating Russia and Belarus from the global economy,” the ministry said.
The conversation also focused on the impact of the Russian invasion on global food security and prices.
The day before, Canadian Foreign Minister Mélanie Joly said the Canadian federal government would change its sanctions law to allow for the redistribution of seized and sanctioned foreign assets to compensate victims or help rebuild a foreign nation after a war.
Recall that the British government has imposed a ban on the export to Russia of goods that can be used against the people of Ukraine. A decision was also made on preferential terms for Ukrainian goods: Great Britain reduced all import duties for products from Ukraine to zero and canceled quotas.
