In Rivne, as a result of a fire in the market, two people died, two more were saved.
Today, May 24, at 08:44 a fire broke out in a warehouse on the territory of the food market, on Peresopnitskaya Street, in Rivne.
This was reported in the press service of the State Emergency Service of the Rivne region.
“Upon arrival at the place of the call, firefighters evacuated 15 people from the market premises. But they rescued 2 men 50 and 61 years of birth from the basement,” the report says.
Unfortunately, two hours later, rescuers found a woman and a man in the basement with no signs of life. The identities of the dead are being established.
The tragic fire was also reported by Rivne mayor Alexander Tretyak.
“Rescuers, doctors, police are still working at the scene. 15 people were rescued from the scene of the emergency. Two of them demanded the help of doctors. But the worst thing is that two residents of Rovno – a man and a woman – could not be saved, despite resuscitation measures. Sincere condolences to the families and loved ones of the victims,” he wrote on his Telegram channel.
Taco, the mayor of the city added that rescuers could not get as close as possible to the source of fire due to complicated travel.
“Once again, I want to appeal to the residents of Rivne: today we again faced the problem of getting to the place of the fire. It was because of this that it was extremely difficult for drivers of special equipment to drive as close as possible to the place of fire in order to provide assistance to the victims. I emphasize once again: Rivne is a city where they respect each other and generally accepted rules,” he said.
7 units of equipment and 33 rescuers were involved in the elimination of the fire.
