Fresh tariff-constructor from Tele2. The name is not the most successful, in fact it is rather a tariff for modems and routers. For RUB 1 per month they give 300 GB of traffic at full speed, then Internet unlimited at a speed of 40 Mbit / s. Options can be disabled, then it will be cheaper.
Still, the name of the tariff is the most important component of its success or failure, I have already written about this many times. Most people associate “Internet for devices” with a tariff for a smart device, the peculiarity of such offers is more than modest consumption of communication services (a little traffic and / or SMS) and, accordingly, the minimum subscription fee. I’m afraid that few potential consumers of the tariff for a modem / router will even open the description of the tariff “Internet for devices”, although, strictly speaking, a router is also a device. And vice versa, whoever is looking for a tariff for a heating boiler will open the description and swear obscenely after seeing the amount of the monthly fee. However, the tariff for smart plugs, dog collars with trackers, etc. there is also, called “Internet for Things” and costs 100 rubles / month. Okay, let’s not get into philosophical reflections about whether a thing is a device, and a device is a thing.
If I still have not succeeded in completely confusing you, then I will try the “control shot”. The fact is that the “Internet for devices” already existed, I wrote about it in my review back in 2015, those who wish can read here. The tariff was formally without a monthly fee and with traffic at a price of 1.8 rubles. per megabyte, but users usually chose their own Internet package from the proposed set. Or they left the “bare” tariff without a subscriber with megabytes at retail, which was just right for devices, ie. for any boiler-bulbs. The current “Internet for Devices” with its unlimited Internet and an impressive subscriber, as you know, is not suitable for a smart light bulb and for its 700 rubles / month even for a heating boiler somehow does not really pull, expensive communication with the boiler turns out.
And in the former “Internet for Devices” there was a per-second tariffication of conversations, how! Do not think that marketers back in 2015 expected a massive invasion of very smart devices that would want to talk to each other. No, it’s just that by law it is necessary to have at least one tariff with per-second billing, and this one-second was pushed into the tariff where it would never occur to anyone to look for it. And where did they put the second now? We made a separate tariff “Classic (per second)” without a monthly fee, the sheep are fed and the wolves are safe.
Tariff structure
The tariff constructor is a good thing, but the description is a bit convoluted. All due to the fact that the options “Access for modems and routers” and “40 GB at maximum speed” are included in the tariff by default. Half a month after connecting, the options are graciously allowed to be turned off and then saved by 600 rubles. per month, if you do not need to distribute the Internet and 4 Mbps is enough for you. However, you still have to pay 650 rubles first. for the first half month of using the tariff in the maximum configuration. And that’s nothing, when you switch to this tariff, they will immediately remove the full cost with all the options for a month, i.e. RUB 1 As a result, those interested in the tariff are confused, which is clearly seen from the reaction to the tariff on Twitter.
Predictable response. I argued a little with the author of the tweet that the options could be turned off, but the person had already decided everything for himself, even after seeing the price tag. In such cases, trying to explain something is useless. Well, okay, if only the interlocutor was good, why should I convince someone of something?
We have exactly the same reaction to Mobile-Review in discussions. Again, you can argue and try to prove something, but initially it is precisely a question of the consumer’s misunderstanding of the tariff. And if the consumer reacts in this way, then it is not necessary to fight with the consumer, but to give a marketer in the neck for mediocre product promotion. If desired, it was certainly possible to present this new “Internet for devices” well, even though it turned out to be a little more expensive than the same MTS analogue “Tariff for a laptop”, 1 instead of 300 rubles / month in MTS.
Voice communication is provided on the tariff. What is called flat rate is also not cheap: all minutes and SMS in the home region and on Tele2 in Russia for 3 rubles, to other numbers in Russia for 9 rubles. There are no complaints, the tariff is obviously not designed for calls, but if you suddenly feel like it, you can call.
Surprisingly, this time the press release turned out to be much clearer and more informative than the description of the tariff on the website. I am pleased to quote:
“The service” Access for modems and routers “opens a tariff for any device and distribution of traffic via Wi-Fi to other devices. Option “40 GB at maximum speed” allows you to comfortably use the Internet on multiple devices. The first 40 GB with the service are provided at the highest possible speed, then at speeds up to 4 Mbit / s. The cost of the tariff plan in the maximum configuration consists of the subscription fee, as well as the cost of the options “Access for modems and routers” and “40 GB at maximum speed”.
The client can use the full configuration of the tariff, or can leave only the necessary options – by disabling one of the services or both. If the subscriber plans to use the tariff in the tablet, does not plan to distribute Internet traffic to other devices and is satisfied with the speed up to 4 Mbit / s, the services “Access for modems and routers” and “40 Gb at maximum speed” can be disabled, thereby reducing costs according to the tariff. In this case, Internet access on the tablet will be provided unlimitedly at a speed of up to 4 Mbps – this is enough to use social networks and instant messengers indefinitely, participate in video conferences, listen to music and watch videos in HD quality. If sometimes you still need maximum speed, you can activate the service “Day at maximum speed” in your personal account. The service will provide unlimited Internet at the highest possible speed for 24 hours. “
In total, in the bottom line, when all options are turned off, we have unlimited Internet at a speed of 4 Mbit / s for 700 rubles. per month. The “Access for modems and routers” option is not as easy as it might seem at first glance. When you disable it, the tariff not only turns into a tariff for smartphones and tablets, but also the ability to distribute mobile Internet via Wi-Fi is disabled on it. Torrents on the tariff are completely blocked.
The “Day at maximum speed” service, which provides unlimited Internet at the maximum possible speed for 24 hours, seems irrational to me at this rate. Still, pay 100 rubles. obviously a bit too much when 4 Mbit is already available without any additional cards. This is if you suddenly need very urgently something very large and very important to want to pour into the computer. Sometimes it happens? Probably it happens, but rarely. OK, let it be, the very opportunity warms the soul. Even if it never comes in handy. But they would put the price of the service 40-50 rubles instead of 100 rubles per day, you see, and they would use it more actively. There is also a psychological barrier: “How, as much as 100 rubles in blood just for the fact that the sites were opened a few hours faster?”.
Summary
The tariff is approximately “in the market”, the price is not overpriced, but the tariff cannot be called cheap either. We can say that in Moscow the hopes of those who counted on inexpensive unlimited from Tele2 did not come true. In its “naked” form (without options), “Internet for devices” is unlikely to be of interest to many, but with one or both options it is already better. It depends on who needs what from the tariff. The main complaint of demanding users is only 40 GB of traffic at full speed. In my opinion, the volume is sufficient, but this is my personal opinion. Anyway, the 4 Mbps speed is really sufficient for most tasks and even for watching videos.
