Nian is a new short film from the series “Shot with iPhone”

Apple has released a new short film titled “Shot with iPhone” to celebrate Chinese New Year.

This time, the company presented a picture called Nian, which was shot on the iPhone 12 Pro Max. As always, Apple noted that additional hardware and software were used to create the short.

The film itself is a touching tale about a girl and the mythical creature Nian, who, according to Chinese folklore, is an animal living in the sea or in the mountains. Nian comes on the first day of the New Year to devour livestock, grain and food, and sometimes villagers, especially children.

In addition to the film itself, Apple has posted a video about the creation of Nian. The video shows the filming process and also highlights the camera capabilities of the iPhone 12 Pro Max.
