Three major summits of world leaders held in Asian countries in the first half of November made it clear that Russian President Vladimir Putin is losing ground on the world stage.

According to CNN, Putin will be relegated to the background. In addition, the President of the Russian Federation himself refused to attend the Asian summits, where he was harshly condemned for the war in Ukraine. At the same time, dissatisfaction with the war started by Russia continues to grow in the world.

“Putin, whose attack on Ukraine over the past nine months has devastated the European country and roiled the global economy, has refused to attend any diplomatic meetings – and has instead been the subject of considerable condemnation as international opposition to his war appears to have intensified,” – it says in the material.

A senior researcher at the Carnegie Foundation, Oleksandr Gabuev, believes that among the reasons that influenced Putin’s decision not to go to the summits are fears of possible political maneuvers against the autocrat if he leaves the capital, an obsession with personal security, and the desire to avoid confrontational scenes, especially in the background defeats in the war.

At the same time, the publication notes that patience is running out even in those countries that have not yet come forward with harsh criticism of Moscow’s actions.

“But even among countries that have not taken a hard line against Russia, there are signs of losing patience, if not with Russia itself, then with the side effects of its aggression. Energy tensions, food security issues and spiraling global inflation are now weighing on economies across the the world,” writes CNN.

Putin’s position in world politics

Former member of the State Duma, Russian journalist Oleksandr Nevzorov called Putin unfit for work. He noted that he is completely unable to predict the consequences of what he does.

At the same time, the former head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin believes that the Russian ruler Vladimir Putin refused to go to the G20 summit because of the fear of dying. He added that the G20 summit was not just a humiliation for Putin.
