The former official helped Russian special services carry out subversive activities against Ukraine.

The former Minister of Education of Ukraine, Dmytro Tabachnyk, who worked under Yanukovych, was informed of suspicion of treason due to cooperation with the FSB and assistance to Volodymyr Saldo and Yevhen Balytskyi, the Gauleiter of the occupied districts of Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions.

According to the Office of the Prosecutor General, no later than May 1, 2022, while staying at an unspecified address, Tabachnyk agreed to cooperate with representatives of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation and decided to assist the latter in carrying out subversive activities against Ukraine.

In addition, it is noted that the ex-Minister of Education, acting on behalf of representatives of the highest authorities of the Russian Federation, in particular the FSB of the Russian Federation, “organized and coordinated the activities of the heads of the Russian occupation administrations of the Kherson and Zaporizhia regions, V. V. Saldo and E. V. Balytsky, respectively, in in the field of health care, education, preparation for referendums”.

The Prosecutor General’s Office added that on May 1, Tabachnyk facilitated the contact of the Gauleiter of the Kherson and Zaporizhia regions, Saldo and Balytskyi, with the Deputy Minister of Health of the Russian Federation Andriy Plutnytskyi. The purpose of such contact was the organization and adjustment by representatives of the occupation authorities of processes in the field of health care in the captured territories of these regions.

In the suspicion, the prosecutors also indicate the dates of Tabachnyk’s contacts with Saldo and Balytskyi, phone numbers and details of these conversations.

At the same time, on August 16, 2022, Tabachnyk gave a contact named “Oleg Vadimovich Kozlov” information about Balytskyi’s incompetence in solving issues related to the creation of a chain of pharmacies in the temporarily occupied territory and pricing of pharmaceuticals, as well as improper storage of vaccines and insulin. It is emphasized that Kozlov is an employee of the 9th Department of the Operational Information Department of the 5th Service of the FSB of the Russian Federation.

“Thus, Dmytro Volodymyrovych Tabachnyk is suspected of having committed a criminal offense provided for in Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – high treason, that is, an act intentionally committed by a citizen of Ukraine to the detriment of the sovereignty, territorial integrity and inviolability, state, defense capability of Ukraine: providing foreign organization or their representatives of assistance in carrying out subversive activities against Ukraine, committed under the conditions of martial law,” the suspicion stated.

The fight against traitors in Ukraine

At the beginning of July 2022, the GBR reported suspicion of treason to the former commander of the submarine “Zaporizhia”, who defected to the enemy in 2014. It is emphasized that the suspicion of treason was reported to the captain of the 1st rank of the military unit, which was stationed in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.

In June, the State Bureau of Investigation opened a case of treason against the mayor of Sviatohirsk, Volodymyr Bandura, who publicly supported the occupiers. Thus, the mayor gave interviews to Russian propagandists, where he publicly promoted the “Russian world”, discredited the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the state authorities of Ukraine.
