Within the framework of the “Generators of Hope” program initiated by the Head of the European Parliament Roberta Mezzola and the Mayor of Florence, the President of Eurocities Dario Nardella, the largest European cities will donate electricity generators and transformers to Ukraine.

According to CNN, the program is aimed at providing energy to the country’s main facilities (hospitals, schools, water supply stations, aid centers, shelters, etc.).

“The European Parliament and the EU have excellently demonstrated solidarity with Ukraine on the humanitarian, military and financial fronts. Now they need practical support to survive the winter. I call on all cities, towns and regions across Europe to join the “Generators of Hope” campaign, she said on press conference on November 23

The Eurocities organization joined the program, which unites more than 200 large European cities,

Nardella emphasized that by donating generators and transformers, European cities will help ensure that Ukrainian cities can cope with their day-to-day tasks as well as possible.

He urged to act as soon as possible, because “winter has come, there is no electricity and gas, no time can be lost.”
