On Monday, November 28, 2022, emergency power outages were introduced in the Lviv region, which cover the majority of consumers in the region. The previously published shutdown schedules are not in effect.

As noted in “Lvivoblenergo”, there may be no light for eight hours.

“The shutdown schedules, which were published earlier, are not valid. On the other hand, most of the consumers of Lviv Oblast fall under emergency shutdowns, except for critical infrastructure facilities. Approximately, one-time lack of electricity will be eight hours, then there will be light for four hours. After that, a blackout is expected again for eight hours,” the message says.

It is noted that due to the difficult situation in the energy system of Ukraine, a number of objects were removed from the list of critical infrastructure. Among them are polyclinics, boiler houses, communication stations, institutions of justice and law enforcement agencies.

“When electricity is supplied, please use it only for the most necessary needs – charging phones, power banks, etc. Do not turn on powerful appliances that you can do without – ovens, vacuum cleaners, boilers, dishwashers, and others. There is a similar situation with blackouts in other regions of Ukraine. Unfortunately, this is the only option to save the Ukrainian energy system,” Lvivoblenergo noted.

Power outages in Ukraine: what is known

As of 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 28, due to the rapid growth of power shortages, emergency power outages are in effect across Ukraine.

As reported by DTEK, light will be provided in Kyiv for two to three hours twice a day. According to the order of NEC “Ukrenergo”, it is necessary to reduce 60% of Kyiv’s consumption capacity.

General Director of the State Energy Trader “Energy Company of Ukraine” Vitaliy Butenko emphasized that the renewal of the energy system strongly depends on the load in certain regions of the country. Therefore, it is necessary to save electricity even after the restoration of the power supply.
