Frosts are not forecast in the south of the country yet.
The current frosty weather will last in Ukraine for at least a week to 10 days. This was announced by the head of the weather forecasting department of the Ukrhydrometeorological center, Vladyslav Bilyk, during an informational telethon.
“We can see that on the first day of winter, it really started to be winter. And such frosty weather, except for the south of our country, will last for at least a week, up to 10 days. The frosts are not very strong, within 5-10 degrees at night, during the day within 1- 5 degrees,” he said.
The forecaster added that the weather conditions will change in the future.
Cold weather in Ukraine
The beginning of winter in Ukraine was marked by increasing frost. According to forecaster Nataliya Didenko, the cold weather that covered Kyiv Oblast, Zhytomyr Oblast, Chernihiv Oblast, and some districts of Vinnytsia and Khmelnytskyi Oblasts will recede as early as December 3.
In general, according to forecasters, this year the weather in December in Ukraine is expected to be unstable. In particular, national forecaster Stanislav Shchedrin predicts that the first decade of December in Ukraine will be frosty and sunny, the air temperature will fluctuate between -5…-14 at night and up to -2…-6 in the afternoon. In the second decade, according to him, warming and rainfall are expected.
Forecaster Ihor Kibalchich shares this opinion. According to his forecast, a cool first half of December and a warm second half will offset each other, and the final average monthly temperature for the month will be close to normal.
