As the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated in his video message, the Russian attack on the city was very brutal and completely calculated.

“Donetsk – today the Russian army attacked Kurakhovo, very brutally, absolutely calculated. It was on peaceful people. On ordinary people. On the market, the elevator, the gas station, the bus station, on the residential building. The list of the dead as of today includes ten people. many wounded. My condolences to the family and friends… Eternal memory to all the victims of Russian terror!”, said Zelensky.

The situation in Donbas

Donetsk region is one of the hottest areas of hostilities. The Russian occupiers shell the populated areas of the region every day.

Oleksandr Kovalenko, a military-political analyst of the Information Resistance group, expressed the opinion that the Ukrainian city of Bakhmut in Donetsk region will become the city that will deplete the reserves of artillery ammunition of the Russian occupying forces.

At the same time, analysts of the Institute for the Study of War believe that the pace of Ukraine’s counteroffensive in Donbas will increase in the coming weeks. Experts believe that neither the Russian nor the Ukrainian military will suspend offensive operations in winter – the optimal time for a war involving mechanized units.
