EU leaders declare that the Russian campaign of systematic missile attacks on Ukraine cannot go unpunished.
The heads of state and government of the member states of the European Union are determined to strengthen military support for Ukraine, in particular, air defense capabilities.
According to the conclusions of the summit of the leaders of the European Union agreed on December 15, the EU is determined to provide military and political support to Ukraine.
“The European Union remains determined to provide political and military support to Ukraine, in particular through the European Peace Fund and the Mission for the provision of military assistance to Ukraine, and by strengthening the provision of bilateral support, especially air defense capabilities and demining assistance,” the conclusions state.
EU leaders say that Russia’s ongoing campaign of systematic missile strikes against Ukrainian civilians, civilian targets, energy infrastructure and other targets, which is causing even more suffering, is a crime that cannot go unpunished.
“This must stop. The European Council calls on all international partners to make similar calls and use their influence for this purpose,” the document emphasizes.
In addition, the European Council calls on Russia to immediately stop all actions that endanger the protection of nuclear facilities, and emphasizes the full support of the European Union for the work of the International Atomic Energy Agency.
