“To Kiev in 18 hours”: NYT journalists published the schedule of the Russians on the first day of the war

The invasion of Ukraine was announced to the occupiers only a few hours before it began.

Journalists showed

The Russians originally planned to reach Kyiv in 18 hours. The occupiers could not carry out the planned plan.

According to The New York Times, the Russian military announced the invasion of Ukraine a few hours before it began. They were given a simple order – to follow the car and reach Kyiv in 18 hours.

According to the invaders’ published schedule, the first vehicles were supposed to leave Belarus and arrive near Kyiv earlier than determined by the Russian command.

One of the Russian soldiers said that they could not even come close to fulfilling the intended plan. The fact is that the military equipment turned out to be too heavy and simply got bogged down, as a result, the Russians spent more than a day crossing the border with Ukraine. At the same time, it is stated that representatives of the OMON and SOBR went to the first column.

The command of the invaders anticipated the resistance of the Armed Forces, but they planned an almost unhindered 24-hour march to a distance of 400 kilometers. The Russians were to dig in about two hours into Kyiv and block the Ukrainian defenders who, in their opinion, were to advance from the South and East.

Later, the situation for the occupiers only worsened – strikes by Ukrainian fighters, hundreds of wounded and dead occupiers, and destroyed Russian equipment.

A full-scale attack by Russia on Ukraine – what is known

Early in the morning of February 24, 2022, the Russian army attacked the peacefully sleeping cities of Ukraine. Russian barbarians bombed populated areas from airplanes, shot and raped Ukrainians, and looted houses.

The occupiers managed to approach Kyiv by about 20 kilometers, but their success ended there. Fierce battles and the resistance of the local population did their job, and after being defeated, the Russians left their positions, leaving behind them crippled fates and devastation.

Ukrainians have been fighting the enemy for almost 10 months. During this time, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces, it was possible to destroy about 97 thousand 690 people.
