The TV host says that the grand opening of the hastily built playgrounds and other facilities in Mariupol by the occupiers is just a propaganda move to put dust in one’s eyes and show oneself in a better light.

TV presenter Andriy Bednyakov, originally from Mariupol, responded to subscribers who think that Russia is “rebuilding” the broken city. He compared the occupier to a rapist who first beats his wife and then buys her expensive shoes in order to appear caring and kind to the public. The showman published a vivid explanation on his Instagram blog:

“When they go outside, all the neighbors say, ‘Look at those boots.’ How beautiful. This is a man! How he loves his wife. This is the situation with Mariupol. Only there the man also bought eye patches. But not because he wants his beloved’s face to always be young. But to hide the bruises and cuts under the eyes. To hide the traces of crimes and create a picture for dragonflies under the entrance.

As an illustration, Andriy Bednyakov published a photo of one of Mariupol’s multi-apartment buildings. Previously, there was a mural with a girl and a bear, but the invaders painted over it and depicted the inscription “St. Petersburg – Mariupol” against the background of the Russian flag.
