US air traffic is recovering after an overnight blackout of the Air Mission Alert system, which provides flight crews with safety information.
According to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the ground stop of departures has been lifted for now.
“A preliminary check revealed a failure in a corrupted database file. There is currently no evidence of a cyber attack,” the FAA said in a statement.
The FAA noted that final checks and system reboots are currently underway. All aircraft currently in the sky can land safely.
