Initially, it was planned that Mykhailo Mudrik would move from Shakhtar to Arsenal.
On January 15, talented Ukrainian winger Mykhailo Mudryk completed his transfer from Shakhtar to London Chelsea.
The 22-year-old footballer successfully passed a medical examination at the English club and signed a long-term contract with the “blues”, which will last until the summer of 2031.
As it became known, an important role in the transition of the Ukrainian to the London “Chelsea” camp was played by the head coach of the “blues” Graham Potter. A few days ago, he called Mykhailo to talk about the Chelsea project. It was the English specialist who convinced the footballer to refuse the transfer to “Arsenal”.
It was expected that Mudric will continue his career in “Arsenal”. The Gunners negotiated with the Miners for a long time and even managed to agree on the terms of a personal contract with the 22-year-old football player, but at the last moment, Chelsea entered the fight for the Ukrainian and interrupted Arsenal’s offer.
We will remind, the amount of Mudryk’s transfer to “Chelsea” together with bonuses will amount to 100 million euros. This is the most expensive transfer of a Ukrainian football player in history.
We should add that Mudrik played 44 matches as part of Shakhtar, in which he scored 12 goals and provided 17 assists. The 22-year-old player played 8 matches for the national team of Ukraine.
