Russia is going to launch a new large-scale offensive against Ukraine in February. Maybe it will happen next week.

Oleksandr Danylyuk, a correspondent member of the British Royal Defense and Security Research Institute (RUSI), said this on Radio NV.

“The Russians have clearly planned offensive actions for February. It may even start next week. If it doesn’t start, it’s only because the Russians have problems with planning and execution,” Danylyuk said.

However, the expert notes that the quality of training of these units of the Russian army will be worse than those that invaded Ukraine on February 24, 2022.

“At the same time, we must understand that we were very lucky at that time, that these marching columns, which were completely unprepared for military resistance, were easy prey for the Armed Forces. Such a situation will no longer exist. There will be normal logistics and much more. The most important thing is that there will be a numerical advantage, which was not there last year,” Danyliuk added.

He also warned that it is not worth counting on the military aid announced at the Ramstein summit at the end of January. It is unlikely that she will have time to enter Ukraine before these next crucial few months.

The war in Ukraine is a new offensive by the Russians

As reported, there have been warnings about a possible new large-scale offensive of the Russian army on Ukraine for several months. Ukrainian intelligence expects that after the replacement of the commander of the united group of Russian occupiers in Ukraine with Valery Gerasimov, the Russians will change their tactics. According to the GUR, the “handwriting” of the new head of the occupying forces is already visible.

On January 25, Oleksiy Danilov, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, stated that Russia’s offensive in the war against Ukraine could begin in one to two months. According to him, the occupiers are seriously preparing for active actions, in particular, they are trying to recruit criminal authorities in the Kharkiv region.

Earlier, Danilov stated that Russia is preparing to intensify the offensive by February 24, because they want to achieve some achievements by the anniversary. The secretary of the NSDC said that the occupiers have the task of reaching the borders of Donetsk and Luhansk regions, and also want some gains in the Zaporizhzhia direction. Danilov warned that the next month and a half will be difficult.

According to Bloomberg, Putin is preparing a new offensive against Ukraine in February-March, even despite the huge losses. It is emphasized that the president of the Russian Federation expects to drag out the war for years. The offensive may begin before Kyiv receives the promised battle tanks from the US and Europe.
