The captain of the 103rd Territorial Defense Brigade, Oleksandr Hanushchyn, explained the reasons for the increasing rate of mobilization in Ukraine. According to him, this is happening because the Armed Forces need personnel to master new Western equipment and replenish losses.

“We really need people, because with the equipment that is coming, we need highly trained, motivated fighters who know how to work with it. We also need people to replace losses, we need people for rear service and ground service. So mobilization is definitely will be continued,” the military officer emphasized on Apostrophe TV.

He added that the mobilization plan must be implemented whether individuals like it or not.

Sometimes the power of the state lies in the legal institution of coercion. The easiest way is to enforce laws. The law on mobilization in time of war must work, and this is exactly what the state apparatus does. Whether individual citizens like it or not, the mobilization plan must be implemented. Otherwise, those who do not want to, God forbid, will continue to live in another country. The pace of mobilization that we see now is obviously higher than it was six months ago, but it is due to the fact that Putin has brought the plans for mobilization from that side to huge numbers,” Hanushchyn said.

Mobilization in Ukraine: what you should know

Due to Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, martial law was introduced in our country and general mobilization was announced. The agenda can be obtained by all men of military age. But according to the law, there are several categories of citizens who are not subject to mobilization during wartime.

At the same time, administrative and criminal liability is provided for ignoring the summons and failure to appear at the military commissariat during wartime in Ukraine.

Colonel Roman Horbach, head of the personnel department of the headquarters of the command of the Ground Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, noted that conscripted Ukrainians who were found to be of limited fitness for service can also be mobilized. Their service will take place not in combat units, but in support units.
