The Russian Federation withdrew 97% of its army to Ukraine – British Ministry of Defence

The maximum concentration of forces gives the occupiers only a slow advance in the style of the First World War.

Russia used about 97% of its army in the war against Ukraine, but this is not even enough to break through Ukrainian defenses. British Defense Minister Ben Wallace said this on BBC Radio 4.

According to him, Moscow’s offensive strategy envisaged maximum concentration of efforts with the aim of “piercing” the defense of Ukraine. However, the maximum that the Russian command achieved was a very slow advance.

“What Russia is doing in trying to advance is almost World War I-level, with levels of attrition and success rates that are measured in meters, not kilometers,” Wallace noted.

He emphasized that all these modest successes on the battlefield were achieved with enormous efforts for the occupiers.

“According to our estimates, 97% of the Russian army – the entire Russian army – is in Ukraine,” Wallace said.

The British minister emphasized that the West is strengthening its own security by helping Ukraine defeat Russia.

“If 97% of the Russian army is now in Ukraine, with a very, very high attrition rate, potentially a 40% reduction in combat capability, and almost two-thirds of the tanks destroyed or broken, this has a direct impact on the security of Europe,” he said. . .

According to him, the situation with the leadership of Russia, which is either “detached from reality” or “does not care about human lives” remains the most incomprehensible in everything that is happening.

The war in Ukraine – the latest news

According to military expert Oleh Zhdanov, the culmination of Russia’s new offensive will take place in March. After that, the war will not end, but the occupiers will no longer have the strength for a second such offensive.

A sharp drop in military production in Russia contributes to the deterioration of the strategic situation of the Russian Federation. British intelligence has such data.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that the battles in Donbas are currently causing an unprecedented destruction of Russia’s potential. The occupiers will no longer be able to renew it, he noted.
