It is about a broad coalition of allied countries.

Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said at the Munich Security Conference that his country is ready to provide Ukraine with MiG-29 fighter jets.

“Today we can talk about the transfer of our MiG-29 within the framework of a wider coalition, and we are ready for this. We also inspire others to do so,” RMF quoted Moravetskyi as saying.

According to him, the topic of transferring these fighters to Ukraine is currently being widely discussed. The Polish Prime Minister emphasized Warsaw’s clear position, which involves participation in a wider coalition.

“This does not apply to our most modern fighters, which we still lack,” Moravetskyi added.

The politician also quoted Kyiv Mayor Vitaly Klitschko as saying that during the latest missile attack, Ukrainian air defense forces shot down almost 100% of Russian missiles. The Prime Minister emphasized that this is a very good result.

“But, of course, this concerns Kyiv and some parts of Ukraine. In turn, we see that in the area of Lviv these missiles are achieving their goal. This means that we must try to balance Russia’s superiority in the air, that is, help Ukraine defend itself in the air as well.” . “, Moravetskyi concluded.

Fighters for Ukraine

Ukraine has long been asking its allies to provide it with modern Western F-16 fighter jets for protection against Russia. Although this issue is being discussed, there are almost no positive developments, as they require quite a long training. However, MIG-29 combat aircraft do not require this, because Ukrainian pilots actively use them.

On February 10, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi at a summit in Brussels officially asked Slovakia to hand over MiG-29 fighter jets. Slovakia will now start negotiations with the European Commission regarding the reimbursement of this military aid.

Subsequently, Polish President Andrzej Dudy said that Ukrainian pilots fly MiG-29 aircraft almost every day, and Poland can hand them over much earlier for other weapons.
