Numerous bug fixes and ubiquitous improvements: Cyberpunk 2077 authors announce the list of major changes in patch 1.2

Studio CD Projekt RED on the official website of its action RPG Cyberpunk 2077 has published a complete list of the most important changes planned for the upcoming large-scale patch 1.2.

We will remind, in the last similar announcement, the developers announced that the update will include improvements in the management and behavior of the police – with the release of version 1.2, representatives of law and order will no longer appear behind the hero’s back.

In addition to the above fixes, there are about 500 more changes awaiting players, including the elimination of bugs in various aspects: the operation of gameplay systems, character behavior, interaction with the world, completing tasks, animation, and so on.

For example, killed NPCs will stop screaming and moving, falling under the map due to collision system errors or getting stuck in textures will no longer work, passers-by will begin to behave more naturally, and it will no longer rain in covered rooms.

Among other things, the authors promise to fix the rendering of textures at high resolution and at a great distance, improve the detail of materials and light sources, and also optimize the interface elements.

In terms of improving stability, CD Projekt RED hopes to reduce the likelihood of crashes by improving the performance of the game engine, memory usage algorithm and more.

There will be changes for specific platforms in the patch:

  • PC – The appearance of ray tracing on AMD graphics cards and the achievement system in the version for the Epic Games Store, an increase in the number of actions available to bind to keyboard buttons;
  • PS4 and Xbox One – improved reflections, rendering when interacting with fog with lighting (PS4), displaying the environment, characters and vehicles, eliminating unreasonable freezes, improving the memory usage algorithm (Xbox One).

CD Projekt RED also noted that the listed changes (the full list is available at the link in the first paragraph) are only the most important of those that will be included in patch 1.2. In addition to them, the patch will offer “Many other fixes and improvements”.

Earlier it was reported that update 1.2 for Cyberpunk 2077 will be released in the second half of March this year, but recently the developers have refused to announce the timing. Now the studio promises that the release will take place already “soon”.
