Intel Rocket Lake-S processors appeared in Russian retail – much more expensive than the previous generation

Intel yesterday began selling 11th Gen Core desktop processors, also known as Rocket Lake-S. New items have already appeared in Russian retail, and we have studied the offers of stores. Let’s say right away that the new processors turned out to be much more expensive than their predecessors.

At the moment, the entry threshold into a new generation of Intel desktop processors in Russia is quite high. The most affordable in the new family is the six-core Core i5-11400F processor. Its recommended cost in the US is $ 157, but in Russian retail it can be found at a price of about 16 thousand rubles. Its brother, the Core i5-11400, which is distinguished by the presence of integrated graphics, costs about 1,5-2 thousand rubles more.

The six-core Core i5-11600K with overclocking capability is offered by domestic stores for about 24-25 thousand rubles, and the Core i5-11600KF model without integrated graphics can be bought for about 1,5 thousand less. Recall that the recommended prices for these processors are $ 262 and $ 237, respectively.

The cheapest eight-core processor of the new generation – Core i7-11700F – in Russian retail can be purchased at a price of about 28,5-30 thousand rubles (recommended price – $ 298). In turn, the models Core i7-11700KF and 11700K with an unlocked multiplier will cost the Russian buyer 35,5-39 thousand rubles, depending on the store. Moreover, their recommended prices are $ 374 and $ 399, respectively.

The cheapest new generation processor from the flagship series, the eight-core Core i9-11900F, is sold in Russia at a price of 40 thousand rubles (in the USA – $ 422). The most expensive Core i9-11900K with an unlocked multiplier will cost 60 thousand rubles. However, there is an opportunity to save money by taking a Core i9-11900KF with an unlocked multiplier, but without integrated graphics at a price of just over 50 thousand rubles. The recommended price for the Core i9-11900K is $ 539, while the Core i9-11900KF model is priced at $ 513.

In the end, we add that the new Intel processors are not overtaken by the problem of scarcity. All processors can be easily found on sale, even in smaller stores. However, while new items are noticeably more expensive than their predecessors. For example, Core i5-10400F can be bought for about 12 thousand rubles, and last year’s flagship Core i9-10900K – for 45 thousand rubles.
