In the course of scientific work under the guidance of paleontologist Daniel Fraser, specialists studied the data that they managed to get through the preserved teeth and bones of the skull of ancient and modern gray wolves. Thus, they came to the conclusion that these animals began to eat differently at some point. This is hinted at by both tooth wear marks and chemical marks on the wolf remains.
Among other things, scientists used established models in this study to identify animal behavior. All this made it possible to establish that the gray wolves managed to survive the ice age by adapting to a new diet.
