PAP Biznes has published an article on the sales of Cyberpunk 2077. The portal spoke with several Polish analysts who shared disappointing predictions about the implementation of the role-playing action CD Projekt RED for the first quarter of 2021. In their opinion, the volume of sold copies of the game ranged from 500 thousand to 2 million.
The average sales of Cyberpunk 2077 from January to April, according to PAP Biznes, is 1,23 million samples. However, Emil Popławski from Erste Securities believes that the figures could be much lower – about 500 thousand. In his data, he relies on research from the M Science analytical group.
According to Michał Wojciechowski of Ipopema Securities, there will be a “hole” in sales of Cyberpunk 2077 in the near future. This is due to the fact that the game still has a lot of problems and people refrain from buying. The analyst also speaks of free add-ons and patches as the main factor influencing the further implementation of the project.
According to experts surveyed by PAP Biznes, sales of Cyberpunk 2077 as of the end of the year will be between 18,5 million and 25,9 million copies. Results could be affected by the release of PS5, Xbox Series X and Series S versions of the game if CDPR is used for additional marketing investments. In addition, PAP Biznes noted that the recently published financials of CD Projekt RED for 2020 are on average 14% lower than the portal representatives predicted.
