It became known that Russia will launch the Nauka module into outer space and will not reduce the program of experiments on the ISS until the national space station is put into operation. This was reported by the TASS news agency with reference to the words of the head of the state corporation “Roscosmos” Dmitry Rogozin.
«In manned astronautics, pauses are destructive. Until our national station begins to fully operate (even in the minimum required volume), we should not reduce the programs of experiments in the ISS orbit. Therefore, we should not go astray on the path that we are going through with such difficulty in relation to MLM (multifunctional laboratory module). The module must be running and it will be useful“, – wrote Mr. Rogozin on his Facebook page, answering the question about the advisability of launching the” Science “module before the appearance of the national station.
We will remind, earlier in the press service of the state corporation “Roscosmos” reported that the decision to extend the operation of the International Space Station by Russia will be finally taken after 2024. The decision will be made based on the technical condition of the orbital station and in accordance with the plan for the deployment of the national orbital station. As for the multifunctional laboratory module “Science”, then its launch into outer space should take place in July this year.
