Alexander Bloshenko, director of the state corporation Roscosmos for promising programs and science, outlined the time frame for the creation of a new orbital station: its deployment will be carried out in two stages.
Earlier it was reported that after exiting the International Space Station (ISS) project, our country will begin to create a new complex – the Russian Orbital Service Station (ROSS).
According to Mr. Bloshenko, the first stage of construction of the Russian space station will begin in 2025–2026. At the same time, Russia will use both the ISS and the complex under construction for some time.
The second stage of the creation of the Russian station is planned for 2030–2035. Thus, the entire complex will be completed by the middle of the next decade.
In accordance with the existing plans, ROSS will combine at least five modules. They will be launched into orbit from the Plesetsk and Vostochny cosmodromes using Angara-A5 rockets.
The station, in particular, will include a commercial module with portholes. It will be able to receive simultaneously up to four space tourists.
