In today’s article, we’ll look at how to add “Copy to Folder” and “Move to Folder” to the right-click menu.
If you need to copy (move) a file or folder to another location, you can click on this file or folder with the right mouse button, select “Copy” => go to the desired folder => right-click and select “Paste” … But there is another way, add “Copy to folder” and “Move to folder” to the context menu, after which clicking on any file or folder with the right mouse button you can select “Copy to folder” (Move to folder) and in the window that opens choose where you want to copy or move the folder.
1.It is recommended that you create a system restore point before editing the registry.
2.Open the registry editor: in the search bar or in the run menu (run by pressing the Win + R keys) write the command regedit and press Enter;
3. In the left column, go to the section HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT AllFilesystemObjects shellex ContextMenuHandlers Click on ContextMenuHandlers right-click, select “New” => “Section”.
4.Name the section {C2FBB630-2971-11D1-A18C-00C04FD75D13}
5.Repeat step 3, create a section named {C2FBB631-2971-11D1-A18C-00C04FD75D13}
Even without closing the registry editor and without restarting your computer, you will see “Copy to folder” and “Add to folder” in the context menu.
You can close the Registry Editor if you want to remove these lines from the context menu – just delete the created keys. That’s all for today, if there are additions – write comments! Good luck ?
