The head of the OPU “is not ready to name the exact day and time when we will win”, but he does not doubt the victory.
The head of the President’s Office, Andriy Yermak, said that predictions about the end of the war in the spring of 2023 “sound like a dream.”
Commenting on the statements of the Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Volodymyr Gavrylov at the International Security Forum in Halifax, Yermak expressed the opinion that it is unlikely to end the war in the terms announced by him, writes “Ukrinform”.
“It sounds as if this phrase of the Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine is a dream. Of course, millions of Ukrainians dream that this war will end as soon as possible. However, I will be more realistic,” said the head of the OPU.
Yermak emphasized that Ukraine has achieved success in the Kherson and Kharkiv directions, but the war continues.
“I am not ready to name the exact day and time when we will win. But it will definitely happen. … Every minute of every day, we are doing everything possible so that our joint victory with our partners will come as soon as possible,” he said.
The head of the President’s Office noted that, despite the negative forecasts that sounded at the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Russia, now the majority of people in the world are confident in the inevitable victory of Ukraine.
Predictions about the end of the war
The day before, Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Volodymyr Gavrylov said that Ukrainian forces can return to Crimea by the end of the year, and the war started by Russia will be finished by the spring of next year.
Oleksandr Kovalenko, a military expert of the “Information Resistance” group, commenting on Gavrilov’s statement, noted that by the end of this year we will be able to hear positive news from Luhansk region, and at the beginning of next year – from Kherson region or Zaporizhzhia. However, according to the expert, Gavrilov’s forecast is “very optimistic”.
The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, commenting on the predictions about the end of the war, emphasized that the situation at the front is changing rapidly. He emphasized that “we do not know when this war will end”, but “we are not interested in prolonging the war”.
