The worker of the colony worked for the invaders from the first days of the occupation of Kherson.
Law enforcement officers detained an employee of the Kherson colony, who released prisoners before the liberation of the city.
According to the State Bureau of Investigation, it is about the head of one of the departments of “Northern Correctional Colony No. 90”.
“From the first days of the occupation of Kherson, the worker of the colony worked for the invaders for positions in the occupation structure, which was responsible for pretrial detention centers and places of execution of punishments,” the report says.
In particular, the head of the security department of the pretrial detention center organized the removal of convicts for improvement work, and for several days even managed this pre-trial detention center.
“On the day Kherson was liberated from the occupiers, the colony worker pretended not to see the escape of the prisoners and did not take any action to prevent it. But he did not have time to escape and was detained by the GBR employees in cooperation with the SBU,” the department said.
It is noted that the detainee was informed of the suspicion of treason (Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The sanction of the article provides for punishment as life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
Escape of prisoners from the Kherson colony
On October 30, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that during the so-called “evacuation” from Kherson Correctional Colony No. 90, the occupiers took out prisoners. The enemy used the territory of the specified correctional institution to accommodate personnel and military equipment.
