Due to the huge demand for this train, UZ was urgently looking for additional cars.
Journalists of “Breakfast with 1+1” showed a video from the central railway station in Kyiv, where the train arrived from de-occupied Kherson.
Correspondent Anton Pshenichny talked to passengers who, after spending months in Russian occupation, arrived in the capital.
As journalists previously reported, the first train from de-occupied Kherson, which arrived on November 20, was empty, with about 50 passengers on board at the time of arrival. However, the second train called “To Victory” was overcrowded.
“Yesterday, we contacted the representative of the press service of UZ, who said that due to the huge demand for this train, they were urgently looking for additional cars so that everyone who wants to be able to come to Kyiv from Kherson. Three cars were added,” the correspondent said.
He also managed to communicate with the people of Kherson, who arrived in Kyiv for the first time after de-occupation. They say: they can’t believe that they got there, but they are glad that they are alive and healthy.
“We arrived in Kyiv with a great mood. The silence is even a little hard on the ears. The train is wonderful, warm and cozy, the service is good… We were in Kherson all the time during the occupation. It was difficult, we fought with our fears, but we persevered. Russians had nightmares every day, as if on needles. We hid wherever we could: under water, in basements and somewhere else. Our defenders were met with the words “Glory to Ukraine” and tears in their eyes,” Kherson residents commented.
Trains to de-occupied cities of Ukraine
On November 19, 2022, the first train from Kyiv arrived in de-occupied Kherson – there has been no rail connection with the city since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine at the end of February 2022.
Passengers purchased tickets for the first flight to Kherson as part of the “Flyers to Victory” project! A charity ticket can be purchased at the link.
We will remind you that “Ukrzaliznytsia” opened the sale of tickets to the already deoccupied Kherson, as well as Mariupol, Donetsk, Luhansk and Simferopol, which can be used immediately after the deoccupation of these cities.
