According to the president, the situation in Kyiv is very difficult.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy spoke about the situation with energy supply in Ukraine after the Russian missile strike. He emphasized that energy workers, utility workers and the State Emergency Service of Ukraine will work around the clock.
As the president noted in his video message, when he received reports on the progress of power supply restoration on the evening of November 23, 11 regions had the mark “the entire region without electricity.”
“As of the beginning of the night, we are gradually connecting new and new areas. Energy workers, utility workers, and emergency services will work around the clock,” the head of state added.
According to him, the connection of household consumers has already started in the Kyiv region – there are already 20%. The situation in Chernihiv Oblast is difficult, but there they are looking for opportunities to give people tension. At the same time, all critical infrastructure is working in Cherkasy region, there they are doing everything to return energy to household consumers.
“Odesa region – water supply is 100% connected, heating is 100%, household electricity consumers are still few, only 10%. But by morning there should be more. Volyn – tens of thousands of consumers are connected, we are working on all others. Ternopil Region – we are connecting district by district – said the president.
He also spoke about the situation in Lviv region, adding that 90% of the region is already connected to electricity.
“Kyiv is in a very difficult situation. The work will continue all night. We expect the result by tomorrow, in the first half of the day,” Zelenskyi said.
Russian missile attack on Ukraine
On November 23, 2022, Russia attacked Ukraine with missiles. It is noted that several regions fell under the massive island. It is known that more than 30 people were injured as a result of the attack in Kyiv region alone.
Due to the impact, there were serious problems with electricity in a number of regions. So, in Kyiv, an enemy missile hit one of the infrastructure facilities. Even during the attack, emergency power cuts began in the capital.
Later, the permanent representative of the US to the UN, Linda Thomas-Greenfield, said that the targeted missile attacks of the Russian Federation from Ukrainian critical infrastructure facilities are a shameful escalation of the war.
