Due to the lack of energy supply in most regions of Ukraine, a difficult situation with the operation of mobile networks of all operators still exists
On November 23, 60% of the network of the mobile operator “Kyivstar” did not work due to hostile shelling of the critical infrastructure of Ukraine.
As Oleksandr Komarov, the operator’s president, reported on Facebook, the shelling provoked the biggest anti-record in the network’s work since the beginning of the war.
“The shelling of critical infrastructure facilities of Ukraine on November 23 provoked a new anti-record in the operation of the Kyivstr network since the beginning of the full-scale war – at its peak, more than 60% of the network was not working,” Komarov wrote.
Komarov emphasized that due to the lack of energy supply in most regions of Ukraine, a difficult situation with the operation of mobile networks of all operators still persists.
A blow to the energy system of Ukraine:
On October 10, 2022, the Russian Federation launched attacks on critical infrastructure facilities in Ukraine. The occupiers are hitting power stations, hydropower and heat generation facilities. An emergency power outage began across the country.
On November 23, an energy blackout began in Ukraine. Due to massive blackouts, it is impossible to withdraw cash from ATMs. It is also impossible to pay for purchases with a bank card, the terminals in stores do not work. Kilometer-long queues line up near ATMs.
Problems with mobile communications and the Internet began in Ukraine. On November 24, 60% of base stations of mobile operators “went down”. The connection disappeared almost in the entire territory of the country.
