After the Russian missile attack on Monday, December 5, emergency power cuts were introduced in all regions of Ukraine.
As informed by NEC “Ukrenergo”, now the situation in the energy system is difficult, but under control.
“Today, the eighth massive missile attack by a terrorist country on our energy facilities took place… the situation is now difficult, but under control. Ukraine’s energy system has preserved its integrity and continues to work synchronously with the network of continental Europe,” the company informs.
It is noted that repair crews of “Ukrenergo” together with colleagues from Oblenergo and electricity producing companies have started emergency restoration work at power facilities in Odesa and other regions.
Dispatchers and engineers of “Ukrenergo” are working on the recovery of the affected regions according to backup schemes. Consumers are connected where possible.
“Due to the consequences of the shelling, part of the power plants will not be able to work at full capacity for a certain time. In combination with the strengthening of the frost in the coming days, this will lead to an increase in the deficit of electricity in the system. In order to maintain the balance between the production and consumption of electricity in all regions of Ukraine, a regime of emergency shutdowns will be introduced,” – Reported to the company.
According to the report, first of all, electricity will be supplied to critical infrastructure facilities: hospitals, waterworks, boiler houses.
The situation with electricity supply in Ukraine
The head of the government, Denys Shmyhal, confirmed that missiles hit energy infrastructure facilities in three regions of Ukraine. There were “arrivals” at energy facilities in Kyiv, Vinnytsia and Odesa regions.
All 10 phases of the schedule of stabilization outages have been disconnected from the electricity supply due to rocket fire in the Mykolayiv region.
In addition, the National Commission, which carries out state regulation in the spheres of energy and communal services (NKREKP), adopted a decision that makes it impossible to charge household consumers for unused electricity.
