The Russian occupiers do not stop trying to advance in the Bakhmut area of ​​the Donetsk region. The enemy is looking for weak points of the Ukrainian military, but cannot penetrate the defense of our soldiers.

As the commander of the “Freedom” battalion, National Guard major Petro Kuzyk, noted on Apostrophe TV, the Russians, wherever possible, try to bypass the Ukrainian troops by shelling their positions with artillery.

“The situation is not easy, but I will say that this is not yet a turning point in events, but it is already obvious that we have entered the mode of real work on sharpening the offensive forces of the enemy. They are sharpening here like a pencil, unless some extraordinary events happen, it is already obvious They cannot break through the defenses. To take one and a half villages, they invested several thousand people, and they were able to hold these one and a half villages for two days. Then they managed to recapture the positions and align the front line,” he explained.

According to Kuzyk, the Russian occupiers are changing their tactics not so much in terms of strategy and plans as in relation to the assault units that are leaving. This is how previously recruited prisoners stormed Ukrainian positions. The Russians sent them forward to pass through minefields and barricades and see where the fire points of the Armed Forces were located. Then the positions of the Ukrainian troops were covered with artillery.

After that, there were professional and motivated units, which are better equipped and specialize in night work.

“When we knock out this unit, while it is being replenished, those who specialize exclusively in daytime work come. But mostly they storm in small groups, but constantly, and this puts a heavy burden on our defenders,” the soldier said.

The situation in the Bakhmut direction:

Analysts of the American Institute for the Study of War said that the Russian invaders are gradually advancing in the Bakhmut area, but have not yet surrounded the city. At the same time, the invaders are conducting offensive operations in the Avdiyivka-Donetsk area, but are defending themselves on the Svatovo-Kremenna line.

Military paramedic Said Ismagilo said that the enemy wants to use the frosty weather to advance in Donbas. Yes, the Russians are trying to carry out offensive actions in the Bakhmut direction. Artillery shelling intensified there.

Oleksiy Arestovych, adviser to the Office of the President of Ukraine, emphasized that the Russian army drove 40 BTG near Bakhmut. The occupiers want to capture all of Donbas so that Russian President Putin can portray a “victory” to the population. At the same time, Arestovych believes that the Rashists will not take Bakhmut after all.
