During the massive shelling of Ukraine, missiles are launched both from the sea and from the air.
The process of preparing for a new massive Russian missile attack on Ukraine requires a lot of time and a large amount of information. Preparation for such attacks takes more than one day.
As Yuriy Ignat, spokesman for the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, said on Apostrophe TV, the Russian occupiers use high-tech weapons for massive missile strikes. Missiles are launched by our country both from the sea and from the air.
“Yes, missiles that are programmed for a certain purpose, following it, can change the flight trajectory. We are talking about high-tech weapons, we are talking about the latest missiles that are launched by strategic aviation, just as missiles are launched from ships of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation “, – he explained.
According to Ignat, during the preparation for the next attack, the Russians need a large amount of information and data about the location of the necessary objects that will be attacked.
“Information, intelligence is being collected, which helps the enemy to develop routes as best as possible, program missiles on their route and strike, releasing several waves. We see that at first the planes launch one group of missiles, ten minutes later the second group of missiles, then the third. In this way, they try to divert attention and bypass our anti-aircraft defense. They maneuver and can definitely change their course, since it is controlled by the operator through the satellite system,” Ignat said.
Missile strikes on Ukraine
Since October 2022, the Russian Federation has already launched eight massive missile strikes on Ukraine. The last attack took place on December 5.
During the last major shelling, Ukrainian air defenses shot down more than 60 enemy missiles out of 70 launched by the Russians.
Advisor to the President’s Office, Oleksiy Arestovich, said that Russia has a little more than 200 missiles of the X-55, X-101 type. According to Arestovych’s calculations, they will be enough for 4-5 strikes in the event of 70 missile launches, as was the case on December 5.
As noted by military expert Yuriy Fedorov, the preparation for the attack takes several days, so the version that the attacks are revenge for some actions of Ukraine is a propaganda narrative of the Russian Federation. He emphasized that the occupiers choose days for massive missile attacks on Ukraine when there are significant changes or important events on the front, or they try to “tie” the attacks to certain dates.
