The Armed Forces reminded that, in order to remove responsibility for waging a total war to destroy Ukrainians, the Russian Federation constantly tries to impose its own vision of the situation.
The Armed Forces named five main narratives that Russia “justifies” its attack on Ukraine.
On the Facebook page, the department emphasized that the narratives of the Russian Federation are designed for a Russian and pro-Russian audience, and their repetition creates the illusion of truth and is used by agents of the Kremlin in the world.
First, Russia claims that the “special operation” in Ukraine prevented a “great world war”. In addition, the propagandists claim that the war is a response to the constant expansion of NATO and the growing threat to the Russian Federation itself.
The third “excuse” concerns the hybrid war that the USA and the West are allegedly waging against the Russian Federation in Ukraine. The Russians are also trying to portray Russia as a victim and NATO as an aggressor.
The latest Russian narrative is supposedly conditioned by the fact that Ukraine is a Russian territory and was created by Lenin in 1922, when the Bolsheviks created the USSR.
The Armed Forces emphasized that in order to remove responsibility for waging an all-out war to destroy the Ukrainian people, Russia is constantly trying to impose its own vision of the situation, invent a reason for its actions, and create the so-called image of a “new enemy for world peace and security.”
